The Lake Orion Baptist baseball squad improved to 4-2 on the season with a second straight 2-1 week.
The Lions roared into Clarkston and swept a doubleheader with Springfield Christian, before losing a heartbreaker to Summit Christian, 9-8, to end their week.
Against Springfield Christian, the Lions won game one 16-7, as Chris Hojnacki recorded his third win of the season. Hojnacki retired the first nine batters he faced and was followed by freshman Luke Combs, who gave up just three earned runs.
Combs had four hits in the games, Ben Cuyler went 3-for-4 and scored three times, Connor Welby scored three times and James Moreno added three RBI.
Springfield took the early lead in game two, but the Lions got a key two out hit in the third from Matt Dobis to reclaim the lead at 6-5, and then the team scored 11 runs, sending 16 to the plate in the fourth, to cap a 17-5 victory.
Moreno went 4-for-4 with a triple, Welby went 3-for-3 and scored three times and Dobis added three RBI.
Last Thursday, the team traveled to Madison Heights to take on Summit, and had leads of 3-0, 5-3 and 8-5 before a four-run bottom of the seventh did them in.
The game-ending run scored on a throwing error, as Summit improved to 6-0 with the win.
The Lions will host Plymouth Christian on Saturday at Oakland Christian. Doubleheader action starts at 4 p.m.
