LO athletes compete in state meet

Several students from Lake Orion elementary and middle schools competed in the Hershey Track and Field State meet on July 6 in Holt, Michigan.
Students who won events at the local Dragon GAP Hershey Meet on June 11 automatically qualified to participate at the State meet.
Casey Stribbell, a student at St. John Lutheran Elementary, led the way for Lake Orion athletes with a first place finish in the girls 9-10-year-old 400-meter dash. Stribbell’s winning time of 1:16 more than three seconds faster than the second place runner’s time.
Other State Meet place winners from Lake Orion included?
Athena Anger: second place in the girls 13-14-year-old standing long jump and third place in the 200-meter dash.
Dominic Arnold: third place in the boys 13-14-year-old 800-meter run.
Zach Greene: third place in the boys 11-12-year-old 100-meter dash.
Jeff O’Dea: third place in the boys 11-12-year-old 200-meter dash and fifth place in the standing long jump.
Elizabeth Bandico: fourth place in the girls 13-14-year-old 1600-meter run.
Justin Lambregtse, Ryan Colwell, Dominic Giovanazzo and Greene: fourth place in the boys 11-12-year-old 4×100-meter relay.
John Arnold: eighth place in the boys 9-10-year-old standing long jump.
Kylie Barber: eighth place in the girls 9-10-year-old standing long jump.
Other Lake Orion students who participated in the State Meet included Paulina Pappas, Renee Boker, Gabrielle Sheehan, Allison Shinouskis, Jacob Teller, Jasmyn Grzadzinski, Kristin MacDonald, Ron Ostezan and Alexandra Ostezan.
