The Lake Orion School district is stepping up at the bat and getting ready for hosting the 35th Annual Conference of the Michigan Association of Middle School Educators (MAMSE).
The premier middle school conference in the state, takes place March 10-11, 2005, and will be attended by both public and private school educators. Newly renovated Scripps Middle School has been designated as the primary site for conference activity.
The content of the conference is now being designed by many committees and sub-committees. The energy-driven theme ‘All Star Educators? is being designed to stretch middle school awareness through attendance at many innovative sessions.
Lake Orion’s three middle school principals: Kenneth Guttman, Heidi Kast, and Alice Seppanen are now contacting local businesses in the area to increase awareness of this early spring activity in the community. Educational vendors are being solicited and already responding, ready to bring their newest software and print materials to the conference.
Thus far Lake Orion’s MAMSE committee expects to host between 800-1,200 middle school educators. Information is now being compiled for mailing. If you would like more information or the registration form, please contact: www.lakeorion.k12.mi.us and link to the MAMSE web site.
