Several students from Lake Orion elementary and middle schools competed in the Hershey Track and Field State meet on July 11 in Holt, Michigan.
According to Dragon Guided Activities Program Coordinator Ben Gerdeman, students who won events at the local Dragon GAP Hershey Meet on June 7 were automatically qualified to participate at the state meet.
Casey Stribbell, a student at St. John Lutheran Elementary, led the way for Lake Orion athletes with first-place finishes in the girls 11-12-year-old 400 meter dash (1:10) and 800 meter run (2:37).
