Lake Orion resident Susan Rinehart, RN, BSN, CWOCN was named the newest recipient of the DAISY Award for Extradordinary Nurses by St. Joseph Mercy Oakland.
Rinehart, who works in the Education Department, was recognized for her clinical skills, compassionate care, exemplary service and extraordinary commitment to patient-centered care. She has been an associate at SJMO since 2009.

This award is given monthly to outstanding nurses in more than 100 hospitals across the United States. Each award recipient receives a DAISY Award signature lapel pin, a certificate of recognition and a hand-carved stone sculpture entitled, ‘A Healer’s Touch.?
The DAISY Award is a program of the DAISY Foundation. DAISY is an acronym that stands for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The DAISY Foundation was established in 2000 by the Barnes family in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura at age 33. The DAISY Foundation funds research to help fight diseases of the immune system and supports patients and their families.
