Santa and two of his reindeer return to The Birdfeeder and Clarkston Flower Shoppe to collect toys, 12-4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 18.
‘We were overcome with emotion by the success of last year’s event,? said Steven Stroud, owner of The Birdfeeder. ‘The amount of toys we were able to collect last year blew us all away, and we are so excited to be able to give back again this Christmas.?
Last year, the community filled an entire sleigh with donations for Toys for Tots of Oakland County.
The sleigh is back in place and they are accepting donations through Dec. 18 at the shops, 7150 Main Street.
‘We have big expectations due to the success of last year, but know the compassionate families in the area will make it possible for us to fill this sleigh again,? said Shari Schulz, Stroud’s sister.
The Dec. 18 event is free. Attendees who bring a new unwrapped toy for donation receive a free photo with Santa and the live reindeer. The classic Christmas story “Twas ? the Night before Christmas” signed by Santa will also be available for purchase. Call 248-625-9711 for more details.
