The Michigan Shock AAU girls basketball team, based out of Lake Orion, spent last week in Orlando playing in the Junior Division II National Championship. They finished with a 6-1 record and in 11th place overall.
The Shock, a 16 and under team, features Lake Orion varsity basketball players Cara Booker, Trisha Dalrymple and Cortney Kimmel. Former Dragon, Chelsea Ahearn, and players from Rochester, Avondale and Powers Catholic rounded out the squad.
The team, which had the best Michigan finish, qualified for nationals after taking third place at states in March.
