Lake Orion resident Carol Davis was recently honored by her bowling league team, Luxury Lounge, for her recent 819-series.
‘Very few people get an 800,? she said. ‘Most men don’t even get that.?
In the three game series on Dec. 13, Davis bowled a 239 her first game, a perfect 300 her second game, and a 280 her third game.
Davis? team bowls at Luxury Lanes in Ferndale, and she began bowling with them after she was asked to substitute for a team member who had an injured hand.
‘My other league folded, and they asked me to come in and sub,? she said. ‘I’ve been bowling with them since September.?
Davis has bowled for 35 years, and got her start in the sport also subbing in a league.
‘Someone asked me to sub and the rest is history,? she said.
Davis? team will bowl through the end of March.
‘It’s the first time I’ve had an 800 ever,? she said. ‘It happened two days before my 60th birthday.?
