Lucy’s Pet Supplies & Feeds

Goodrich – Buk’s Feeds & More will take on some changes this fall.
Not only will the business at 8159 S. State Road have new owners, the store will also get a new name starting Oct.1.
Bryan and Angela Grogan will name the store Lucy’s Pet Supplies & Feeds after their 13-year-old daughter Lucy, who aims to be a veterinarian.
With dogs, horses, cats and chickens of their own on their 10-acre property in Atlas Township, the family is dedicated to making sure customers are giving their animals the right supplements and pet food.
‘We have done tons of reading and research about pet food. If a customer comes into the store and is concerned about the health of their animal, we will be able to help them understand what they are buying and why,? said Angela.
The only store around the village to provide the premium horse feed ‘Triple Crown,? Angela said she will keep plenty of that product in stock.
‘We want to give our customers the best product for the best price. We know how important that is to our community. We will also put together a new computer system so we are sure not to run out of inventory. The store will get some fresh paint and reorganization, and we won’t have to close the store down to get this done,? she said.
One thing Angela said will remain the same is the store’s black kitty, ‘Cheyenne.? The cat will continue to roam the store and has been there for three years with previous owners, Dan and Diane DeJohn.
‘We want to continue the same momentum that Dan and Diane gave the store, they did a great job. Taking the store to the next level is our primary focus,? said Angela.
Residents in Atlas for eight years, Bryan and Angela say they have been looking to buy a small business for awhile and say this is the perfect fit because they really love their little town of Goodrich.
‘When I was the president of the Parent Teacher Organization for two years, I really got to know how wonderful all of the people are in this community. So we were sure we wanted to have a business right here in town,? said Angela.
The store’s hours will remain the same? open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
