M-15 accident investigation complete

Davison Twp. – A fatal M-15 accident investigation is now complete, and has been turned over to the Genesee County Prosecutor’s office.
Davison Township Police formed a three-member reconstruction team of specialists from Davison Township, Richfield Township, and the City of Davison police departments to investigate the April 9 accident involving a Ken’s Redi-Mix concrete truck and a Chevrolet Venture van.
‘Speed was not a factor,? said Davison Township Police Chief Larry Hrinik.
The use of drugs or alcohol was also ruled out as a factor in the crash, and a report from the Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Division showed no defects with the conrete truck, said Hrinik.
A second reconstructionist opinion from the State of Michigan confirmed the team’s findings, said Hrinik. Any charges stemming from the accident will come from the prosecutor’s office, he stressed.
The investigation reports will now be examined by the Genesee County Prosecutor’s office.
The accident claimed the lives of two Atlas Township residents, Pamela Doyon and her son Sam, and Pamela’s mother, Sandra Thrasher.
Max Doyon, 3, survived the accident and is ‘improving on a daily basis,? says Rob Doyon, Max? father.
Pamela’s sister-in-law Lydia Doyon, stresses the family’s appreciation for the community’s thoughts and prayers.
‘We truly believe that the prayers went up and a miracle came down for Max,? said Lydia, who wants to see M-15 safety improve.
‘I want the public to continue to remember and to be informed and I don’t want the community to forget.?
Brad Brigham of Ken’s Redi-Mix in Goodrich did not return calls to The Citizen.
