MADD honors

Atlas Twp. – Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputy Kyle Guest is the scourge of drunk drivers in Genesee County, says Atlas Township Supervisor PaulAmman.
‘In little Atlas Township, Kyle Guest arrested more drunk drivers last year than any other deputy in the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department,? said Amman.Last month, the Michigan State Organization of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) in Lansing presented a certificate of special appreciation to Guest for ‘outstanding efforts in drunk driving prevention and law enforcement.?
The certificate commemorated Guest’s nomination for MADD Michigan’s
Lifesaver award.Only nine such honors are awarded each year, said MADD Michigan Executive Director Homer Smith.’Law enforcement is the cornerstone for making our roads safer,? said Smith.
‘We take drunk drivers very seriously,? says Detective Sgt. Joe Parks,
commander of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Atlas Township precinct, whocalls Guest a ‘great cop? and an asset to the department.’Kyle Guest is very effective and aggressive toward traffic enforcement, along with other deputies,? said Parks.
Guest and the Atlas officers are vigilant about keeping intoxicated drivers off local streets, says Amman.
‘If you’ve been drinking and you’re driving in Atlas Township, you’re in a
heap of trouble,? he said.
