Two houses along S. Washington St. (M-24) were demolished last week by the Clarkston-based Rogers Excavating as Genisys Credit Union proceeds with plans to build a new 3,300-square-foot facility, complete with drive-through, in Oxford Village.
The houses were located at 114 and 120 S. Washington St. between Holy Cross Lutheran Church and Coldwell Banker Shooltz Realty. Genisys will build on these two lots along with the vacant lot between them.
According to Tom Alter, senior vice president of research and development for Genisys, construction will commence ‘probably within the next month? and the project is expected to wrap up in January.
‘We’re hoping for the branch to be open (sometime during) the first quarter of 2015,? he said.
