Mallard sets new school records

Two new school records weren’t enough to keep the Oxford Swim Dive team from defeat at a home swim meet Sept. 9 as they fell to Waterford 111-75.
Sophomore Jenna Mallard set school records in the 200-yard Freestyle with a time of 2:17.05 and in the 50-yard Freestyle that was part of the 200-yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 28.07.
Mallard ended up winning the 200-yard Freestyle event while the 200-yard Freestyle Relay team of herself, Ellen Saville, Sarah Skelton and Anna Daves came in second overall.
In the 200 Freestyle, Jennie Sunman and Skelton finished third and fifth.
Allison Woonton came away with two first-place finishes’one in the 200-yard Individual Medley and another in the 100-yard Backstroke.
Daves finished first in the 50-yard Freestyle.
Other results from the swim and dive meet were as follows:
? 200-yard Medley Relay ? Caroline Kerbelis, Emily Gilmore, Claire Patrell and Rikki Jarvis took third.
? 200-yard Individual Medley ? Kerbelis took fifth.
? 50-yard Freestyle, Daves finished first while Kerbelis took fifth.
? 100 Butterfly, Patrell and Kristin Simmers came in third and fourth, respectively.
? 100 Freestyle, Saville finished second, Daves third and Jarvis fifth.
? In the meet’s longest event, the 500-yard Freestyle, Skelton took third while Kaitlyn Kimmel finished fifth.
? In the 100-yard Backstroke, Sunman finished fifth.
? In the 100-yard Breastroke, Mallard finished second, Gilmore third and Kimmel fifth.
In the final event of the swim portion, the 400-yard Freestyle Relay, the team of Patrell, Saville, Skelton and Woonton finished second.
In diving, Oxford finished second through fourth as Olivia Martin took second, Lindsay Sutherland took third and Molly Bonfiglio took fourth.
