Man arraigned for home invasion

A Waterford man arraigned on home invasion charges in 52-2 District Court on Oct. 28 faces up to 20 years in prison, according to Sergeant Mark Gardner of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department.
Richard Scott Hallenbeck, 45, was arrested on Oct. 26 after police pulled him over on southbound I-75 near Baldwin Road.
Police were alerted to the home invasion just before 10 a.m. after a women allegedly discovered Hallenbeck in her sister’s home on Andersonville Road carrying items from the house. The man drove away in his vehicle, taking several items from the house. The woman followed the suspect in her car on Andersonville Road for awhile, providing an excellent description and accurate license plate number which helped police track the suspect, said Gardner.
According to Gardner, Hallenbeck’s bond was set at $100,000 cash/surety 10 percent. He also had an outstanding warrant and ‘an extensive criminal history.?
‘All the deputies and the woman did an outstanding job,? said Gardner.
The stolen items recovered included an antique .38 caliber revolver, .177 caliber BB gun and jewelry.
