The Genesee Area Conference Red Division champion Goodrich baseball team had three players selected to the All-League first team.
The Martians, who made it to the Division III state semifinals, also placed two on the all-league second team and three on the honorable mention team. The voting was done by the division’s six coaches.
Seniors Michael McCormick, Kori Garman and Brent Koss represent Goodrich on the first team.
McCormick, bound for the University of Michigan, went 9-1 with a 0.45 ERA in 10 league games. In 62 innings, he struck out 106 and walked just seven. He also played first base and batted .339 with 14 RBI.
Garman went 8-0 in league play with a 0.62 ERA. He struck out 67 and walked 16 in 45 innings. Garman also played the infield this season and batted .377 while scoring 17 runs and stealing eight bases.
Koss, a catcher/infielder, hit .368 with six doubles, a home run, scored 15 runs and drove in 13. He was also 2-0 with 15 strikeouts and did not allow a run in 15 innings pitched.
Making the all-league second team were junior catcher Max Bell and freshman outfielder Matt Hughes, while senior Luke Seymour, junior Nick McDonald and sophomore Kirk Elsworth made the honorable mention team.
