Goodrich’s football team, which shared the Genesee Area Conference Red Division championship with Montrose and Mt. Morris, placed six players on the first team all-league squad.
Montrose had eight players among the 26 named to the first team in voting by the division’s six coaches, while the Martians and Mt. Morris had six apiece.
Senior offensive lineman Barrett Johnson and junior running back Kirk Elsworth were unanimous selections to the first team offensive unit, while senior defensive back Adam McAuliffe was a unanimous selection to the first team defensive squad. Senior defensive end Jim Loftis, senior defensive end Jeff O’Mara and senior kicker/punter Matt Hill were also named to the first team defense.
Four Martians were named to the second team offense: junior offensive lineman Mike Bradburn, senior offensive lineman Chris Roelandt, junior offensive lineman Mark Johnson and senior split end Lance Keene.
Three Martians were named to the second team defense: sophomore defensive back Joe Leppek and junior linebackers Andy Bohlen and Marc Bourassa.
Junior Adam Compeau was named to the honorable mention squad.
