The McLaren Community Medical Center of Metamora offers one-stop health care for patients. At the center most patients can take care of several of their health care needs in one place, at one time.
These centers are larger, have several physicians, state-of-the-art equipment, and extended hours and expanded services.
If a physician is away from the office patients can see one of their colleagues instead of waiting for their doctor to return.
The center currently has both three male and three female physicians that treat the very young to the very old.
On-site services available at the center include family practice, pediatrics, radiology, EKG, minor surgical procedures and laboratory services.
The center also has a community room that is available to area residents for meetings and activities.
Approximately 20 employees work at the Metamora facility, which opened in October of 1998.
In the fall of 2002, Kimberly Thompson, M.D., joined the medical staff and in the winter of 2002, Malik Dababneh, D.O., came to the facility.
All six of the center’s physicians are board certified; five in family practice and one in pediatrics.
Currently, the center is hosting a ‘What’s Up Doc? program on the third Thursday of each month.
A different health topic is covered each time.
The programs are free and anyone interested in attending one can call the center to register.
