Mock presidential election close

No gliches in this presidential mock election, not even hanging chads, but it was close.
The students at Pine Tree Elementary School cast their votes and it was a squeaker, with only five votes separating presidential candidates, students elected John McCain with 211 votes. Barack Obama received 206 votes.
‘I voted for Barack Obama because I support his issues on Iraq,? said Jordyn Traylor.
However Christopher Skiba said he thought Obama was too young and inexperienced.
This is the first time third grade teacher Dan Martin has run a mock presidential election.
He decided since he was conducting a poll, he would put three other questions on the ballot.
Students were asked what their favorite subject is in school, favorite activity in gym and favorite type of book they like to check out from the library.
Martin said math came in first with science and reading tied for second. Sports games like basketball and hockey is what the students said they want to play most in gym class. Novels are what these students say they like to read.
‘This wasn’t just a vote, it was a decision that required further thought, which taught students to think about why they chose their candidate and how to defend their position,? said Martin.
