Motorcyclist exceeds 130 mph

A motorcyclist from White Lake with a suspended license tried to elude an Oakland County Sheriff’s Independence Township deputy during a chase in which the officer reached 132 m.p.h. in pursuit, according to police reports. The chase concluded when the deputy caught up to the 25-year-old man as he pulled into his Fox Chase Drive residence.
The 6.2-mile chase occurred on May 3 around midnight after the deputy observed the driver heading south at a high rate of speed on White Lake Road at the Dixie Highway intersection.
According to reports, the motorcycle continued to pull away from the officer, passing several vehicles as the patrol car reached speeds near 132 m.p.h. The chase continued west on Andersonville Road, south on White Lake, and south on Ormond Road before the man pulled into his residence on Fox Chase Drive in White Lake Township.
After the man was apprehended, the deputy discovered he had a suspended license. The motorcycle was impounded and the case is open pending the prosecutor’s review.
