Music rang though downtown Clarkston once again last Friday evening as concert-goers enjoyed a free show.
Whether they were in the park or sitting farther away in the Clarkston Union, hundreds of people came by Depot Park to hear the country band Terrie Lea and the Mustangs perform live.
The concerts-in-the-park series is put on as a Clarkston tradition by the Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce, and is sponsored by members of the chamber.
John and Peggy Dreyer are no strangers to Concerts in the Park.
‘We’ve lived here for 30 years, and we really love it,? the couple remarked.
Scott and Karen Evanson said the event was ‘very nice.?
Friday’s concert is the first they’ve been to, but the spirit has already rubbed off on them.
‘It’s a great tradition,? Scott Evanson said. ‘It brings the community together.?
As usual, volunteers turned out in large numbers. The Lion’s Club, represented by Dan Wung and Chris Geisler, among others, made a splash by providing concert-goers with plenty of refreshments. The band, who played country favorites like ‘Working Man Blues,’packed up after Friday’s performance and headed to Ohio for their next gig.
Legend the Band returns to Clarkston for this week’s concert on Friday, July 17.
