Sue McGinnis was appointed to the Oxford Beautification Commission by the village council Tuesday.
The village resident, who’s lived on Pleasant St. since 1997 and was appointed to the Oxford Community Development Authority in October, replaces Marilyn Bossardet, who served on the commission for three years prior to her recent resignation.
In her Nov. 20 letter of resignation, Bossardet wrote, “I have enjoyed my time with all of you, but find it necessary now to leave. I wish each of you the best of luck and thank you for your many kindnesses.” In a Dec. 3 memo to council, Beautification Commission Chairman Joe Bullen stated Bossardet “has been an asset to the commission.”
“She is a very willing worker, always doing her part in planting, weeding, planning or whatever is needed to get the job done. Certainly, a real asset to our community,” Bullen wrote.
Council voted to accept Bossardet’s resignation “with great regret.”
