Goodrich Library’s new librarian has a big heart for books, especially teen literature and cookbooks.
Meagan Brown started as the new librarian at the Goodrich branch of the GDL (Genesee District Library) on March 24.
Already an assistant librarian for the GDL for two years, Brown previously worked as a librarian for the Community District Library in Byron.
‘One of my idols was my public librarian,? said Brown on why she chose this profession. ‘I worked at book stores through college. I have a huge love for books.?
Brown received a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan-Flint and went on to complete a master’s in library science from Wayne State.
Goodrich Library’s previous librarian, Kara Kvasnicka, was recently promoted to Grand Blanc McFarlen library.
Brown said that she’s looking forward to meeting new people and offering them her take on the collection of materials. ‘Everyone has been so welcoming,? said Brown of Goodrich. ‘I already feel like I’m a part of the community.?
Brown encourages everyone to come and visit the Goodrich Library and take part in the endless entertainment it provides for its community.
