Tom’s Market has been a fixture in Ortonville for 30 years, and the new owner is looking forward to many more.
“I want to grow in the community,” said new owner Jay Patel. “I’ve been a member of the community already for 15 years.”
There will be plenty of changes coming to the market, including implementing a beer cave and more products.
“We’re trying to get food next door,” said Patel.
Past owner Malik Kattula said they are going to be expanding on the products they have in store already to include more wines, liquors and drafts. But some things will stay the same.
“You’re going to get the same attitude and personnel,” said Katulla.
He also wanted to thank the community for the support the last three decades.
“I would 100 percent say I appreciate all of the loyalty over the last 30 years,” he said. “Without our customers, we wouldn’t be here.”
Patel is hoping to be in the community for many years to come.
“I’m looking forward to 100 more years,” he said.
Keep an eye out for changes at Tom’s Market, 465 South St., Ortonville.
