Oxford’s got a new high school and new football stadium, so it makes sense there’s a new Homecoming Parade route too.
This year’s Homecoming Parade will begin 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17 in Edison Alley (located in the northeast downtown parking quadrant).
The parade will turn right onto East St. and head east toward N. Glaspie St. where it will turn left and head north on N. Glaspie St. which becomes N. Oxford Road as the parade enters the township.
The parade will end in the circular drive at the new football stadium.
Village Police Chief Mike Neymanowski said the new parade route is 0.9 mile long as opposed to the old Pontiac St. one, which was 0.8 mile.
The chief said the parade should last about 30 minutes, during which time all of the aforementioned streets and roads involved will be closed to vehicular traffic.
