The village’s Main Street Promotion Committee has decided to cancel the DoNut Festival scheduled for Oct. 18.
According to Becky Goodman, Lake Orion’s Downtown Coordinator, the committee wasn’t successful in recruiting enough participation from the business community to support the event.
The second problem was creating the world’s largest donut. The initial, surefire plan for handling this didn’t materialize. Without the donut, the project seemed doomed, Goodman added.
