No Muskrat love for Wildcats

Oxford High School met the visiting Algonac Muskrats for a non-league game on Saturday, May 26. The Wildcats shutout the Muskrats 5-0.
Coach Jeff Willis was very pleased with his team’s victory. He praised his pitching staff who put in a ‘good effort on the mound.?
OHS didn’t have as many base hits as the visitors, but ‘even though we only had 3 hits we took advantage of their mistakes,? Willis said.
In the second game of the afternoon, the Wildcats went up against Bishop Foley. Willis has great respect for Bishop Foley, deeming them a ‘state power house, regardless of class.?
Bishop Foley took it to the home Wildcats, winning in decisive fashion, 15-4. The Wildcats were able to scratch ‘off a couple runs late,? Willis said, but since Bishop Foley’s ‘offense was hitting on all cylinders,? the Wildcats hadn’t a chance.
Earlier that week, OHS squared off against visiting Plymouth for a doubleheader on May 25. Despite some ‘pretty solid pitching efforts from every one that threw,? Coach Willis said, the Wildcats dropped both games.
The first match was the closest, and was the best representation of ‘the type of baseball we’re capable of playing all the time,? Coach Willis said. The first game hinged on two suicide squeeze bunts, and ‘if we get them both down you’ve got a 4-3 ball game,? Willis mentioned, instead of the actual final score, 3-2.
