The Brandon School District is seeking nominees for the Ed and Diane Donaldson Distinguished Alumni Wall of Fame.
“As part of our district’s Brandon 2025 vision, we seek to highlight the success of our students beyond the Brandon School District,” said superintendent Dr. Matt Outlaw. “We are not preparing them to graduate, but to flourish in their life beyond our schools. In order to this, we must begin by looking to our past.”
Nominations are being accepted now through Aug. 27, and those who are nominated must have graduated from Brandon at least 10 years ago, and must have distinguished themselves through achievement, service or contributions to their community, profession, and/or nation. Achievements include:
nRising to the highest levels of their profession or organization
nSignificant accomplishments within their area of expertise
nReceipt of a great honor within their profession or organization
nRising to the highest levels of public service
nHolding a position of great prestige or notoriety beyond the Ortonville-Brandon community
nSpecific and significant accomplishments during decades of service as a local elected official or leader within the Ortonville-Brandon Community
“Our district and community have a rich history and this is something that makes us so special,” said Outlaw. “Honoring our distinguished alumni could be a great source of pride for this community, but the value of having such great role models for our students is truly incredible.”
Honorees will be presented on Sept. 27, and will be part of the homecoming ceremonies on Sept. 28. A committee will review all nominations and will select the honorees.
Submissions can be sent to Outlaw at moutlaw@brandon.k12.mi.us or to mschubring@brandon.k12.mi.us, or mailed to 1025 S. Ortonville Road, Ortonville, addressed to Matt Outlaw. Nomination forms can be found at www.brandonschooldistrict.org/index.php/distinguished-alumni-award
