Not a good time to raise taxes

Dear Editor,
(In response to: ‘I vote no millage raises,? The Citizen, Aug. 27, page 6)
I must agree with Robert Therrien, this is certainly not a good time to raise taxes for any reason.
I’m not sure of what agreements have been made with Oakland County or the school to get an officer there. Maybe more money was found somewhere? I responded to a pamphlet last spring from the township and village on taxes. I suggested the township and village properties not in use be sold. I never heard of any response to that idea, maybe the loss would be too much, compared to what was paid. But as a taxpayer we are all faced with the same win or loss situation. I sill think that 50 percent is the same as it has always been, is the glass half full or half empty?
