Obituaries e-mailed by local funeral home

Coats Village Funeral Home has launched a new service that allows obituaries to be sent to your e-mail inbox as soon as they are posted to the funeral home’s website.
‘Many people have asked that I call them when someone passes,? said Roy Langolf, Coats Village owner/managing director. ‘Honestly, it is impossible to call everyone, so we’ve implemented the next best thing? a subscription service.?
Individuals subscribe by logging onto www.coatsfuneralhome.com, clicking ‘Subscribe to Obituaries? in the upper right hand corner of the home page, and then clicking the Ortonville box on the next screen. When the funeral home posts a new obituary, it immediately is sent to your designated inbox. The funeral home will never sell your e-mail address to anyone, he said.
‘We want this service to provide more support to our grieving families,? said Langolf. ‘They will have the ability to hear from many more people during a time when they need as much support as possible.?
Once subscribers are on the website, they can view the entire obituary and also send private condolences.
The service will allow those who have moved away, temporarily headed south for the winter, or even those living locally, to stay in immediate touch with some of the most important news they need to know.
Coats Village Funeral Home is located at 135 South St., Ortonville. 248-627-3412.
