The annual OCEF Rummage Sale is coming.
‘We’re asking for household, outdoor and garage items, children’s toys, small appliances and furniture,? said Sue Kelty, rummage sale co-chair. ‘We are also looking for children’s clothing, particularly coats and jeans, and career clothing for men and women, so they can look nice when going to work. These are things requested from our OCEF clients.?
The Ortonville Community Emergency Fund serves 150 low-income families residing in the Brandon School District with the food pantry feeding approximately 250 individuals per month. The OCEF Rummage Sale is the non-profit organization’s biggest fundraiser, earning more than $10,000 last year alone.
OCEF accepts nearly everything that fits in a home or garage for the sale, with the exceptions of large appliances, mattresses, computers and television sets. Books, dishes, home decor, toys, tools, baby gear, and all variety of furniture can be found at the sale.
Drop-off tax-deductible donations all day long on Monday, Sept. 15, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 825 S. Ortonville Road. A clothing sale is new this year and clothing donations will be accepted for drop off the same day at Ortonville United Methodist Church, 93 Church St.
Pre-sale for the OCEF Rummage Sale will be from 6-8 p.m., Wed., Sept. 17 with admittance a $5 donation to OCEF. Both the OCEF Rummage Sale and the OCEF Clothing Sale will be open to the public from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Sept. 18-19 at the respective churches.
