At 10 a.m., April 21, the Old Mill, 366 Mill St., Ortonville will open for its 44th year.
Dean Salley, Ortonville Community Historical Society president, said volunteers are needed to help create more than 2,000 historical profiles of items in the museum.
‘There’s been many new items donated to the Old Mill over the past few years,? said Salley. ‘Help is needed to document some of the new donations to the museum.?
The Old Mill was built by the founder of Ortonville, Amos Orton, and was operating in 1856. The mill served the community for 104 years and closed in 1960. The Ortonville Community Historical Society opened the mill as a museum in 1968. Admission is free, donations accepted. Details and to volunteer: 248-627-2185.
