Kelly Oles, 23, of Oxford, is adding yet another crown to her collection.
On Saturday night, the 2006 Oxford High School graduate was crowned Miss Oakland County 2011 at the Costick Center in Farmington Hills.
She competed against 14 other young ladies from around the county.
Winning this local title will enable Oles, who’s studying for her MBA degree at Walsh College in Troy, to once again compete in the Miss Michigan pageant next year.
Oles has competed for the state title twice before. She was named first runner-up this year and third runner-up last year. She’s only eligible to compete one more time as the age limit is 24.
Winning Miss Oakland County means Oles must give up being the reigning Miss West Michigan, a title she won back in December.
The Leader did a feature story about Oles in the June 29 edition. It can be read on-line at www.oxfordleader.com. The headline was ‘Oles named 1st runner-up in Miss Michigan, plans to go back.?
