The Oakland Township Historical Society is sponsoring an ongoing exhibit entitled ‘No Greater Calling: Walter P. Reuther and the Reuther Family in Oakland Township.?
Walter Reuther, labor leader and world-wide champion for social justice, lived with his wife May and two daughters in Oakland Township from 1950 until 1970.
The Reuthers were involved in conservation efforts to clean up Paint Creek, as well as other community projects.
For the month of October, the exhibit is open on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from noon to 6 p.m.
For the months of November and December, the exhibit will be open Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The last day for the exhibit in Oakland Township will be Dec. 23, 2008.
