Planet Kids, a family-owned, Christian-values childcare center and winner of Best of the Best Day Care for the second year in a row, celebrates its 10th birthday with a gift to the Clarkston community: a free night of childcare for 164 children.
‘We’ve been enjoying a summer-long birthday celebration with events for our families and the community,? said owner Kelly Collins, a University of Michigan graduate of behavioral science and early childhood development. ‘We thought this would be a great finale.?
Planet Kids hosts Kids Night Out, 6-11 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 15. The evening’s theme is ‘Hip to be Square.? Children are invited to come dressed in 50’s and 60’s attire. A pizza dinner will be served along with ice cream dessert. Residents of Clarkston and Independence Township are invited and the first 164 children registered will enjoy this free, fun-filled evening with Planet Kids.
‘This is a great way to support our families and community,? said Collins. ‘At a time when many places are conserving and cutting corners, Planet Kids is investing more in the lives and learning of their children with creative, hands-on curriculum, and new, extended hours of operation.?
Planet Kids is now open from 6 a.m.-11 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
