Optimists swear in officers

District Judge Kelly Kostin was sworn in as the president of the Clarkston Area Optimist club during ceremonies at the 19th Annual Installation Dinner on Sept. 29. She was sworn in by Lt. Governor of Zone 11 Debbie Berry.
Officers for the 2005-06 year include Rob Bondy, president-elect; Jean Dasuqi, vice-president; Jeff Reed, treasurer; and Nancy Knitter, secretary. Directors for the coming year include Bill Anderson, Curt Carson, Ben Kramer, Carl Matisse, Joan McCrary and Larry Rosso.
Don Brose, Michigan District Governor of Optimist International and Clarkston member, installed Lindsay Hultman as Michigan District JOOI Governor. Katie Page and Tessa Hartley were sworn in as Michigan District JOOI Lt. Governors.
Junior Optimists of Optimist International club presidents includes Lindsay Hultman and Kate Banghart for the Octagon club at Clarkston High School; Katie Vondette and Jenica Dabrowski for the Clarkston Junior High Junior Optimist Club; and Savanah Johnson and Jamie Goryca for the Sashabaw Middle School Junior Optimist Club.
Member Jean Dasuqi was also recognized as ‘Optimist of the Year? for her outstanding contributions to the club throughout 2004-05. The award is presented each year to the member who contributes most significantly to the growth and success of the Clarkston club in meeting its objectives of ‘Bringing Out the Best in Kids.?
