Two Orion Oaks Elementary teams won the state title in Michigan Youth Flag Football play. Jets, the fifth grade team, and Redskins, the third grade team, played their championship game at Walled Lake North High School, Saturday Nov. 14. Jets had an undefeated regular season, and played six games on Saturday, with only one loss against the best in the state to win the championship. Redskins also had an undefeated regular season, and played six games Saturday, with only one loss, to take the title.
Jets team is made up of Kyle Livingway, Austin Wright, Kyle Mackowski, JD Allen, Nick Damato, Jack Marcus, Dillon McCallum, Brandon Stanyer, Joe Slayton and Adam Pocock. They’re coached by Dave Livingway and Jeff Wright.
Redskins team is make up of Josh Slayton, Andrew Remer, Daniel Mackowski, Matthew Williams, Andrea McCallum, Lauren Campbell, Evan Crue, Topher Daisy, Connor Long and Alec Houston. John Slayton and James Houston coach the team.
