The Ortonville DDA, in partnership with Main Street Oakland County, has started a crowdfunding program for a COVID-19 relief mini-grant for small businesses in the community.
“This crowdfunding program and the relief mini-grant are part of a larger response and recovery program the DDA board adopted pretty early in this crisis,” said DDA Executive Director Matt Jenkins.
The crowdfunding campaign has a goal of $10,000, and Main Street Oakland County will match the funds for the mini-grant. The #LoveOrtonville campaign will help provide some financial relief to small businesses in the DDA district that have suffered a financial loss due to Covid-19. “In an effort to better represent the needs of our businesses and community, this program links resources and develops strategies that will 1, create a response to help businesses maintain operations and 2, prepare for recovery when ready to pivot to commerce generating and community building activities,” said Jenkins.
