Ortonville Halloween

Donations of individually wrapped Halloween candy are still needed and can be dropped off at the village offices, 476 Mill St. from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday until Oct. 29 or after 5 p.m. at Papa Bella’s Pizza, 425 Mill St.
Trick-or-treating will take place in the village from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 31. The annual Halloween bonfire with cider and doughnuts will take place at the DPW building, 159 Cedar St., immediately following trick-or-treating. During the hour of trick-or-treating in the village, the following streets will be closed: Church from Mill Street to Oakwood Road; Cedar Street from Mill Street to Ball Street; and Ball Street from Cedar Street to Church Street. No cars during that hour will be allowed in or out. Any village residents who would like to be put on the list for Halloween candy to distribute should call the village offices at 248-627-4976 or stop into the office.

Ortonville- Trick-or-treating is set for 6-7 p.m., Oct. 31, in the village. Doughnuts and cider will be served at 7 p.m. that evening at the Ted Baker DPW Complex, at Cedar and Ball Streets.
In an effort to ensure the safety of trick-or-treating children, some village roads will be completely closed, while others will be partially closed, including all of Crescent Hill Drive; Church Street from Mill Street to Oakwood Road; Cedar Street from Mill to Ball Street; Ball from Church to Cedar; and Schoolhouse Street from Church to Cedar.
Parents are encouraged to park their cars and walk their children, rather than following them in their cars. Parking is available at the Old Mill, the municipal lot at Pond and Mill streets, along Mill Street, and along South Street.
The village council is collecting candy donations this year to distribute to residents to give out for trick-or-treating. Donations can be dropped off until noon, Oct. 31 at the villiage office, 476 Mill St. Village office hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Candy must be individually wrapped.
