Over 450 cool lookin? cars at Culver’s

Culver’s was the place to be on Tuesday.
More than 450 classic cars packed the grounds in what was called the biggest turnout ever for the weekly car show.
Owner Joe Zimmer said the weekly show seems to get bigger each week, now that the weather has been nice.
‘Classis butter burgers and classic cars go together,? Zimmner said.
One of the more unusual cars at the show belonged to Jerry Sims, of Goodrich.
It was a true one-of-a-kind roadster that boasts of more than 600 horsepower in its V-8 and the car weighs only 1,600 pounds.
‘I always said if someone built a roadster like this for the street I would buy it? Sims said. ‘I saw an ad one day in a car magazine and ordered it to be built. I told them I wanted it in an eight-cylinder and they built it. It was to be their flagship vehicle.
Unfortunately, the builder died soon after the car was completed and his wife closed down the company, leaving Sims with his one-of-a-kind car.
Sims said the vehicle doesn’t just sit and collect dust. He drives it often and has been to Texas, Tennessee and New York as well as all over Michigan.
He’s got about 50,000 miles on it.
‘I used to have more than a dozen classic cars and I realized I was spending my time polishing them and not enjoying them. I sold them all and kept this one. It’s a lot of fun.?
