Oxford Bank donates $2,075 to HAVEN

A check in the amount of $2,075 was presented to HAVEN last week on behalf of Oxford Bank.
For more than 29 years, the non-profit HAVEN has worked to eliminate domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse through treatment and prevention services across Oakland County and surrounding communities.
‘We really appreciate the donation and we appreciate Oxford Bank and its employees? willingness to do this special fund-raiser for us,? said Catherine Lahti, HAVEN’s vice president of development, who accepted the check Thursday at the bank’s main branch in downtown Oxford. ‘We’re delighted to be able to accept it on behalf of the clients from your community that we serve.?
Oxford Bank’s donation was raised from the sale of 1,660 Coins of America’s Michigan State Quarter Collector Sets between February and April at the bank’s six retail locations.
The individual sets sold for $3.50 each with a $1.25 earmarked for HAVEN.
Each set included two, uncirculated Michigan Quarters from each of the two United States mints (Denver and Philadelphia) enclosed in a tri-fold display card that included historical and factual information about the state.
Oxford Bank’s donation will go toward ‘providing food, shelter and clothing for people who are seeking safety from violent homes in our emergency shelter program,? according to Lahti.
‘It will also help to provide services in response to sexualt assault and child abuse and our various counseling and other non-residential programs,? she added. ? Editor C.J. Carnacchio
