Some of the specific services available at Oxford Family Medicine include physical exams, blood tests, EKGs, immunization and minor surgery which includes the removal of skin tumors and biopsies. The office will be able to offer x-rays this summer.
Dr. Romero will be able to assist patients? concerns with men’s health, women’s health, pediatrics, preventive medicine, cancer screening, chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes, acute illnesses and injuries.
Oxford Family Medicine provides initial, continuing and total care. Dr Romero’s philosophy is to build the patient-physician relationship by being the initial contact and provider, and then continuing treatment in order to form a patient bond.
‘I’m going to be able to provide acute care and continuing treatment,? said Dr. Romero. ‘This means that after the initial contact, I can help to maintain an individual’s health.?

Dr. Romero believes in providing continuing and comprehensive health care for both the individual and the family. His practice encompasses all ages, both sexes, each organ system and every disease entity.

Dr. Romero received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of the Philippines in 1981. In 1986, he completed his residency in general surgery at the Philippine General Hospital and then from 1994-1997 he was at Wayne State University family practice residency program where he served as chief resident in his senior year.
Dr. Romero is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice, a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a member of the American Medical Association and a member of the Wayne State University Alumni Association.
He is an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Wayne State University and been published in several peer review journals.
He is affiliated with Lapeer Regional Hospital, Mt. Clemens General Hospital, St. John Hospital and Medical Center and Sinai-Grace Hospital.
Oxford Family Medicine is located at 1120 S. Lapeer Rd., Suite 100 in Oxford. Office hours are from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 1 p.m.- 7 p.m. on Wednesday and 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. on one Saturday a month. Same day appointments are available.
