Oxford motorcyclist, 48, killed in crash

A 48-year-old Oxford man was killed in a crash while riding his motorcycle along W. Drahner Rd. around 3:30 p.m. Monday.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office identified the motorcycle operator as Douglas Milo Lasley.
He was involved in a crash with two other vehicles near Beckley Ave.
According to a press release issued by the sheriff’s office, a 43-year-old Oxford woman was turning east onto W. Drahner Rd. from Beckley Avenue in a 2007 Honda Odyssey van when she failed to yield the right of way to an eastbound 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck operated by a 38-year-old Oxford man.
After being hit by the van, the pickup slid sideways on W. Drahner and into the path of a westbound 2011 Victory motorcycle, killing the operator.
After the collision, the pickup truck slid off the road and flipped over.
The motorcycle operator was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office. The man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver of the pickup, who was wearing a seatbelt, was uninjured as were his two child passengers, ages 10 and 7, who were also wearing seatbelts.
The driver of the van was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash. It remains under investigation
