Pine Knob Lego Robotics moves on to states

The Pine Knob Elementary Lego Robotics team the PKE Legonators, earned a berth to the state wide competition on Nov. 19, at Carman Ainsworth High School, bringing home two trophies.
The PKE team’s robot won a second place performance trophy for it’s board run. The Clarkston youths cooperation garnered them a Team Work trophy as well.
In addition to programming their lego robot, the team wrote and performed a skit focusing on the importance of phytoplankton’s role in slowing global warming.
‘We expected a good run but not as good as we did,? Coach Carol Barber said.
Scoring 345 points, PKE finished second overall leader board. The top team scored 356.
The state competition is Dec. 10. Last year, around 80 teams competed at states.
