Planning commissioner resigns

The resignation of Oxford Township Planning Commissioner Sam Liberto was accepted ‘with regrets? by the township board Nov. 10.
Liberto had served on the planning commission since his appointment June 14, 2002. Prior to that, he served six months on the township Zoning Board of Appeals.
‘He was a valuable member of our safety path committee,? noted Treasurer Joe Ferrari.
‘We’re sorry to see Sam go,? said Trustee Jerry Dywasuk.
Liberto is leaving Oxford Township to accept an ‘exciting career opportunity? in his home-town of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The township board approved a resolution honoring Liberto’s contributions and thanking him for his service to the community.
Supervisor Bill Dunn must now appoint someone to fill the rest of Liberto’s term, which expires at the end of this year, plus a full three-year term.
Those interested in applying for the vacancy are encouraged to contact the supervisor’s office at (248) 628-9787 Ext. 6. ? Edtior C.J. Carnacchio
