In honor of the graduating fifth grade class, the PTA at Pine Knob Elementary sponsored a tree planting ceremony in front of the school on May 25. Each fifth grade student took a cup a dirt and poured it on the roots of the Bradford Pear tree which sits in front of the school’s main enterence.
During the ceremony, PKE Principal K.C. Leh said she hopes this tree planting will be the beginning of new tradition that will not only honor graduates, but make the school exterior more beautiful. Leh encouraged students to return when they graduate from high school and see how much the tree had grown.
