Mon., Oct. 16 An employee of a telephone company reported that two ground copper bars worth about $1,500 each had been stolen from the tower located at Ortonville and I-75.
Tues., Oct 17 Stolen ladder. A 16-foot extension ladder was stolen from property off Andersonville Road near Dixie Hwy.
Tues., Oct 17 An Independence Township resident reported that a man estimated to be in his early 30s claimed he was with a cable company and needed access to the home. The residents, who did not let the man inside, said the man did not wear a uniform, and they saw no cable vehicle, but did spot an older pickup with a ladder on the side. The cable company said no employees had been sent to that address.
Wed., Oct. 18 Police were called to the 6000 block of Maple to check on a report of a woman wandering confused and disoriented through the neighborhood. After determining the woman had no place to stay and could be a danger to herself, police transported her to a local care facility.
Wed., Oct. 18 Tire theft. A resident of the Lancaster Apartments off Dixie Hwy called police when he discovered that the front tire, rim and lugnuts had been stolen from his car during the night.
Thurs., Oct 19 A resident of the 5000 block of Greenview Road reported damage totaling an estimated $1,000 to a rented excavator. The man also complained that his roadside mailbox had twice been pulled from the ground recently, with damage totaling about $150.
Sat., Oct. 21 Police responding to a call from a restaurant on Dixie Highway and M-15 arrived to find two highly intoxicated men bleeding in the parking lot. Neither man knew what happened, or how he arrived in the parking lot.
Sun., Oct. 22 An intoxicated 16-year-old youth was arrested after crashing the car he was driving into a telephone pole on Holcomb near Washington around 4 a.m. Sunday. The youth became aggressive with police responding to the scene and was subsequently charged with several offenses, including assault and battery of a police officer.
Oct. 16 A thief entered a home on N. Main Street in Clarkston and made off with an Xbox video game system. No other items were stolen, Clarkston police said.
