The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is looking for any information regarding malicious destruction of a police boat on Voorheis Lake earlier this month.
According to an OCSO report, the boat attack took place between Aug. 4 and Aug. 6 at the Keatington Subdivision Marina.
While responding to an incident on Lake Voorheis, deputies discovered the patrol boat had been severely damaged.’The damage, which OCSO said was done intentionally, disabled the patrol boat from responding to the complaint.
In addition to substantial repair costs to the boat, the damage prevented a fast response to an emergency situation on the water; something the OCSO said is of even greater concern.
There is currently a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
The public is encouraged to call 1-800-SPEAKUP should they have any information about this crime.
