Eight positions are still available at the JV level for the Oxford Junior Wildcats Tackle Football teams, but time to sign up is fast running out.
Anyone with a boy or girl who will be eight or nine years old on August 1, 2004, and weighing 130 pounds or less; or ten years old by the same date and weighing less than 135 pounds are eligible.
The cost to play is $150 plus camp fees. The amount includes practice and game uniforms, and a game jersey to keep after the season ends.
Practices begins on August 9 at 6 p.m., and are held each night (Monday through Friday) for the first two weeks only. After this time, practices will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays for two hours per night until October 31. All games will be on Saturdays, starting after Labor Day.
In addition, the Junior Wildcats are encouraged to attend a three-day fundamentals camp, June 15-17, led by Oxford Varsity Head Coach Bud Rowley. The camp will be held at Oxford High School from 9-11 a.m. Please arrive at 8:30 a.m. to register and sign a waiver form on the first day. The cost is $18 and includes a t-shirt and pizza party.
