? Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 1300 block of Deer Path Trail, where they arrested a man for domestic assault against his daughter. According to the report the man and his daughter and the man’s ex-wife were arguing about his health when things escalated to a physical level. The daughter said her father grabbed her by both shoulders and hit her in the eye. Deputies observed blood under the father’s nose and strong odor of intoxicants on his breath. The daughter had marks by her right eye and appeared that the skin around the eye was turning dark. The man was transported to Oakland County Jail without incident.
Wednesday, Jan. 6
? Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 200 block of Bedlington Drive, where they arrested a man for domestic assault against his girlfriend.
? A man was arrested in the 200 block of Lake Shore Circle, for domestic violence against his ex-wife after pushing her to the ground, during a verbal argument over their 10 year-old son.
? Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call at a hospital located in the 300 block of N. Lapeer Road. According to the hospital staff one of their patients became irate when his insurance declined to pay for his treatment and verbally threatened staff. While trying to resolve the issue with the insurance company on the phone, the staff said the patient knocked a clipboard off the counter and walked out the doors pushing them forcefully with his hands. The doors were not broken, but a small plastic piece had been broken off of them. The facility wasn’t interested in pursuing criminal charges, just wanted documentation of the threats made against them.
Thursday, Jan. 7
? A woman working at a market, located in the 2400 block of W. Oakwood Road called sheriff’s deputies after receiving a rejection for a transaction for a credit card for $445. According to the woman, she had a male customer come in her store and ask for two bottles of alcohol and three cartons of cigarettes. When the credit card was rejected after being swiped, the man requested she manually punch in the numbers. The transaction was then approved. Both the card and the man’s ID matched each other. Being suspicious the woman wrote down the license plate of the vehicle the man was riding in to give to deputies. The case remains open.
? Village police received a call of Fed Ex truck parked suspicious in the 20 block of Lincoln Street by a school and there was concern. Upon further investigation it was a parent picking up a child concerned, not the school. The homeowner works for Fed-Ex and brings trucks home.
Saturday, Jan. 9
? Village police were called on a civil issue between neighbors in the 100 block of S. Washington Street.
Sunday, Jan. 10
? Village police were called to the 30 block of Park Street where a man was seen face down on the sidewalk with his pants and underwear down.
? Village police received a call from a woman in the 80 block of Crawford Street, claiming to be a victim, but wouldn’t tell over the phone. The woman said she would fill out a state and drop it off to the police department. It is an unknown complaint at this time.
