The power supply on a Smart Cart radar trailer was vandalized on May 22. At the time it was parked on Elizabeth Street near the Ehman Center.
The equipment flashes the speed of oncoming vehicles.
‘We leased it for testing purposes,? Lake Orion Police Chief Jerry Narsh said. ‘We wanted to see if it would assist in safe traffic enforcement.
‘We’ve been pleased with the feedback and the effect it has had (on slowing people down). But it’s obvious one speeder didn’t like the readout and returned to vandalize the instrument.?
Narsh is asking anyone who might have information on the vandalism to call the police department at 248-693-8321.
